Safe removal of trees that have outgrown their space, become unstable or are damaging buildings and drains.
Where there is room to drop a tree we fell it whole. In tight gardens, over conservatories or next to boundaries we dismantle it in sections, rigging each limb down under control. Every job includes chipping the brash, cutting the timber to length and clearing the site.
Reshaping to reduce height, spread and weight, or to let more light through the canopy.
Reductions are cut back to suitable growth points so the tree keeps a natural outline and recovers well. Thinning removes crossing and congested branches to reduce wind resistance and brighten the garden below. All pruning is carried out to BS3998 standards.
Raising low branches over drives and paths, and removing dead or hanging limbs.
Crown lifting clears headroom over pavements, parking and lawns. Deadwooding removes dead, dying and broken limbs before they fall, which is the most common cause of damage and injury from otherwise healthy trees.
Annual cuts, height reductions, reshaping and full hedge removal.
We trim conifer, laurel, beech, privet and mixed native hedges for homes, farms and estates across Sheffield. Height reductions are cut to a line you are happy with, and all clippings are taken away. We check for nesting birds before any work between March and August.
Grinding stumps below ground level so you can re-turf, plant, pave or build.
Our narrow-access grinder fits through most side gates. Stumps are ground out along with the main surface roots, and you can choose to keep the grindings as mulch or have them removed and the hole backfilled with topsoil.
Rapid response to windblown, split or fallen trees blocking access or hitting property.
After high winds we prioritise trees that are on roofs, cars, power lines or blocking a road or drive. Call us and we will tell you honestly how quickly we can be with you, and what to do to stay safe in the meantime.
Written condition reports and the council paperwork for protected trees and conservation areas.
Many trees in Sheffield are covered by a Tree Preservation Order or sit within a conservation area, which means the council must be notified before work starts. We check the status of your tree, prepare the application and explain what is likely to be approved.
Overgrown plots, boundaries, paddocks and development sites cleared and left tidy.
From a neglected back garden to a plot being prepared for building, we clear scrub, self-seeded trees and old hedgerows, then chip or remove the arisings. Timber can be left cut and stacked if you want it for firewood.
